How Albion’s players rated against Spurs…
MATY RYAN 8
Headed off a possible nervy finish with two good, very different saves from Lucas Moura. Confident and usually accurate with his feet.
MARTIN MONTOYA 8
A very busy performance as a more orthodox right-back. Has a really tidy touch on the ball and won it back tenaciously at times.
ADAM WEBSTER 8
More of the same, this time in a back four. Good reading of the game, solid defence and one of this trademark rumbles forward, ball at feet.
LEWIS DUNK 9
Not a bad reminder on the anniversary of his first England squad call-up. Got the better of England’s No.9, cleared one from in front of goal – and that pass for the third goal!
DAN BURN 8
A left-back role and he came through well, his most testing moments being after the break when Sissoko played further forward. Super cross for the second goal.
DALE STEPHENS 8
Underpinned the team performance. Punctuated the customary midfield work with a couple of sweetly struck volleys from corners.
STEVEN ALZATE 8
Another landmark for him and another position. His home debut came in midfield and his tidy, simple ball retention was key to the overall team display.
AARON MOOY 9
This is why Albion have been chasing him for at least a couple of years. Strong on the ball, got into handy spaces and made things happen.
PASCAL GROSS 8
Adds such a subtle touch, be it in his movement or work with the ball. Rating would have been a bit higher had that clever free-kick been a bit lower.
NEAL MAUPAY 8
A goal-getter’s instinct to move in for any Lloris error while marker Davies backed off, assuming all would be well. Might have headed in another in the second half. Was a livewire.
AARON CONNOLLY 9
Two super goals – one a trademark striker’s finish and the other a classic for a left-sided wideman. He can play both roles and was such a danger.
SUBS
YVES BISSOUMA N/A
First off the bench with Connolly looking exhausted. Did his job.
GAETAN BONG N/A
Sent on at left-back to see it through and still had time to go forward.
GLENN MURRAY N/A
A very late entrance.
