Albion trio Maty Ryan, Lewis Dunk and Aaron Connolly have been named in teams of the week.

Both Dunk and Connolly featured in line-ups selected by The Times, BBC Sport and The Daily Express.

Connolly not surprisingly was chosen after scoring a brace on his first Premier League start in the 3-0 win over Tottenham.

Dunk also put in an eye-catching display on Saturday where he made a great goal-line clearance to keep out Eric Lamela’s effort in the first half and then played a superb ball to tee up Connolly for his second.

Meanwhile Ryan was picked in BBC Sport and the Express XIs after making two crucial saves to keep his third clean sheet of the season.

Connolly's performance against Spurs caught the eye of Premier League record goalscorer Alan Shearer who was full of praise for Connolly on Match Of The Day.

He said: “He was absolutely magnificent. He ran Spurs ragged all afternoon. It was a complete centre-forward performance it had everything.

"He was superb. He’s been called up to the Republic of Ireland squad and it’s thoroughly deserved on that performance.”
