Aaron Connolly is a senior Irish international.
The 19-year-old Albion striker made his debut as a sub in Tbilisi today.
He went on in the 79th minute for the Republic of Ireland as they drew 0-0 with Georgia in a Euro 2020 qualifier.
Former Crawley striker James Collins was handed his first start for the Irish with Connolly among the subs.
The two players were colleagues last season when Connolly was on loan at Collins’ current club Luton.
But they never actually got on the pitch simultaneously in League One.
It was the same story today as Connolly went on for Collins as the lone Irish striker.
The Albion man looked lively and confident.
He had a shot saved late on after playing his part in the build-up and then fired into the side-netting.
As expected, Albion defender Shane Duffy started and played the full 90 minutes after recovering from a calf injury.
He might have won it right at the death when his header went straight at the keeper.
The Argus understands Crawley will not receive any pay-out from the Hatters as part of the deal which took Collins to Kenilworth Road ahead of last season.
