Moulsecoomb had plenty to celebrate in the National Development Championships finals in Banbury after their three boxers came home with two golds and one silver between them.
The first of the two golds was won by Luke O’Brien in the junior class B under-75kg final when he beat Dillion Condel from Redcar on a split decision.
It was a tough fight with Condel having the greater experience but O’Brien did enough to edge it.
The other gold medal came from Harvey Dykes in the senior class B over 91kg final.
He beat Ike Ogbo from Border City by a unanimous decision.
Coach Bill Davies told The Argus: “Harvey fought his socks off, displaying some old school boxing to see off the challenge of Ogbo.”
The trio were supported by three of the coaches at the club in Davies, Max Smith and Nicky Bell.
Peter Dobos picked up a silver in the senior class A over 90kg final when he was beaten on a split decision by Daniel James from Bakehouse.
Davies said: “It was a gruelling fight. James had more experience but Dobos went toe to toe with him. He was just narrowly beaten.”
