Albion duo Aaron Connolly and Shane Duffy have been named in the Republic of Ireland's provisional 39-man squad for games against New Zealand and Denmark in Dublin.

Connolly was called up to the main squad from the U21s in the last international break after Ronan Curtis picked up a hamstring injury playing for Portsmouth.

However, after impressing off the bench against Georgia in his first start for Ireland, manager Mick McCarthy has named Connolly in his provisional squad this time round.

Duffy has also been named despite not being involved Albion's 3-2 win over Everton on Saturday due to feeling discomfort in a calf muscle.

Ireland take on New Zealand in a friendly on November 14, before taking on Denmark at home in a crucial Euro 2020 qualifier four days later, which could see Ireland qualify if they win.
