Ex Albion caretaker manager, Nathan Jones has been sacked by Stoke City after just nine months at the club.

Jones who was part of the coaching staff at Albion between 2013 and 2016, leaves the club second bottom in the Championship and four points from safety.

The 46-year-old had been resigned to losing his job back in October, but back-to-back-wins over high-flying Swansea and Fulham eased fears.

Jones, who was appointed back in January after a successful spell at Luton Town, won only six out of the 38 games he took charge of at the bet365 Stadium.

Jones had the following to say in a statement on the club's website.

He said:"I would like to thank John and Peter Coates, firstly for the opportunity to manage this Football Club and then for the continued support and patience throughout my time here.

"I would also like to thank the supporters for their fantastic support. Finally, I wish the Club the very best for the future."
