Graham Potter wants Albion to relish the challenge of Old Trafford.
The Seagulls take on Manchester United buoyed by three successive home wins.
That could make the timing just right to try and claim a prestigious scalp on the road.
Potter says his Seagulls side will be full of respect for United.
He added: “Old Trafford, no matter who you are, is never an easy place to go.
“Liverpool couldn’t win there.
“We know the size of the challenge but I think you should go there with a sense of positivity and do our best.”
Albion have won just four of 37 away league games since a 1-0 success at Swansea two years ago this weekend.
Fans will be hopeful of improving that but Potter will warn not to under-rate United based on their league placing.
He said: “Sometimes the league table lies, certainly when there’s not too many games.
“You only have to get a few results which could have gone the other way and pretty quickly the table can look not so good.”
