Chichester City manager Miles Rutherford has described his side’s FA Cup draw as “fantastic”.

The West Sussex minnows will go to Tranmere Rovers or Wycombe Wanderers in the second round.

Their two potential opponents drew 2-2 at Prenton Park and will replay a week tomorrow.

Both are in League One, with Wycombe currently second and Tranmere down in 18th.

Chichester had a bye in the first round proper after working their way through the qualifying stages.

Rutherford told The Argus: “It’s a fantastic draw for Chichester Football Club.

“Two years ago we were playing County League football and we were in all sorts of trouble.

“We’ve added a couple of players but it is basically a County League side playing a League One side, which ever one it is.

“We will go there and give it our best shot.

“We are under no illusions. We will probably go out of the FA Cup but we wanted to play a Football League team before that happens.”

Chi will have limited time to scout their second-round opponents.

But Rutherford said: “It doesn’t really matter to us. We will watch them on TV and someone might go to a game, although it’s a long way to go on a scouting trip if it’s Tranmere.”

Crawley face a tough test if they are to reach the potentially money-spinning third round.

Reds were drawn at home to Fleetwood, who are currently fifth in League One.

Ties will be played across the weekend of November 29 to December 2.

Eastbourne Borough were the only Sussex side to be drawn at home in the FA Trophy third qualifying round.

Borough will be at home to Westfield or Hartley Wintney, who have play their replay tonight.

Bognor’s reward for beating East Thurrock was an away draw to National League South side Tonbridge Angels.

The winners of the replay between Hastings and Whitehawk tonight will travel to National League South side Weymouth.
