Amanda Nilden scored with a lovely curled finish as Albion produced a dominant second-half display to win 5-0 against London Bees.

They keep themselves in the hunt to qualify from group B in the FA Women’s Continental League Cup.

Hope Powell selected a much-changed side from their first win of the Barclays FA WSL season on Sunday, but the Seagulls maintained their form to romp home with five different scorers at The Hive.

Victoria Williams, Emily Simpkins, Ini Umotong and Kate Natkiel also netted as they outclassed their opponents.

The Bees thought they had gone ahead after 26 minutes when Nikita Whinnett’s floated cross found Brooke Nunn at the back post, but her side-footed volley went just wide.

Albion took a deserved lead into the break when a poor clearance from a corner landed to Nilden.

She took one touch to put it on her favoured left foot and hit a fantastic low curled strike in off the post from distance.

The Seagulls doubled their lead on 53 minutes when Williams went on a powerful run on the left and cut inside, did a one-two with Umotong and fired the ball into the top left corner.

Simpkins made it three when her cross from the left floated over Lynch’s head and into the top corner.

Albion scored again on 70 minutes when Umotong broke through on the right and rifled the ball home into the bottom right corner.

Natkiel completed the rout with a thunderbolt from distance that went in off the bar.

Powell made several changes and there was a debut for Libby Bance.

Albion go to Manchester United in Barclays FA WSL on Sunday.
