Hard-working Adam Webster has been praised for his efforts to ease Albion’s defensive headaches.

The centre-back has given himself a chance of playing against Jamie Vardy and Leicester at the Amex tomorrow.

Webster was expected to miss several weeks due to an ankle injury suffered at home to Norwich.

But he could yet face the free-scoring Foxes in a game which sees skipper Lewis Dunk serve a one-match ban.

Albion head coach Graham Potter revealed Webster was worried he had suffered a significant setback when he went down against the Canaries.

Potter said: “I suppose his initial reaction was one of concern because he has done that injury, probably a little bit worse, before.

“But, as it settled down, we recognised it wasn’t as bad as he first thought or what we thought it may be.

“Then he has just worked really hard through the last couple of weeks to be strong and fit and no problems with the ankle now.

“Everything was fine this week. We will just see.

“As long as there’s no sinister reaction he should be available but it’s not 100%.

“It’s a lot better than it could have been when he first did it.

“There is a worry it could be three months with that type of injury.”

Leandro Trossard is set to play after recovering from a minor ankle injury suffered while training with Belgium.

But Aaron Connolly (groin) misses out with Albion now hoping he can face Liverpool next Saturday.

Davy Propper, Shane Duffy and Steven Alzate reported back from international duty with no injury concerns.

But Alzate will only return to training today after his two appearances for Colombia.
