How Albion's players rated at Anfiueld...

MATY RYAN 8

Continued his good form. Some fine saves to keep Albion in the game and was confident in his footwork.

MARTIN MONTOYA 6

Got involved in build-up play but the introduction of Alzate suggested Potter wanted more down that side.

ADAM WEBSTER 6

His perceptive through pass changed the game as it led to the red card. Beaten in the air for the first goal and not always comfortable when pressed.

The Argus:

LEWIS DUNK 8

Such a fabulous performance in so many respects, not least the pass into the bottom corner for the goal, some key defending and his distribution from the back. A true leader of his team. But was beaten one-on-one for the winning goal and missed two good chances.

DAN BURN 7

The best reflection of his efforts at left-back was how quiet Salah was before being taken off. Not many forays until late on.

DAVY PROPPER 8

Can look so good at times. Involved in much of Albion’s better work and gave Alisson his first test with a shot after slick interplay.

DALE STEPHENS 7

Broke up play and was confident on the ball as he got it to team-mates and let them create.

AARON MOOY 7

More clever link work and was involved in much of Albion’s creative play as well as testing Adrian. A touch more pace would be handy at times.

YVES BISSOUMA 6

Back at the scene of his first Prem start and did some good bits and pieces while not always secure in possession.

PASCAL GROSS 6

Quiet in the first half but corner teed up a good chance for Dunk at a corner and had had that opportunity to head home from a corner.

AARON CONNOLLY 7

Looked right up for his battle with Van Dijk and Lovren and offered good movement. Had reason to grumble at his service and protection he got from the ref.

SUBS

STEVEN ALZATE: Looked the part down the right.

The Argus:

LEANDRO TROSSARD: Hit and miss but he always conjures something of note.

NEAL MAUPAY: Got onto some decent positions.
