Two-goal Virgil van Dijk was impressed but not surprised by Albion.
The Dutch matchwinner praised their poise and willingness to play out from deep.
Van Dijk’s pair of first-half headers secured Liverpool their 2-1 win over Graham Potter’s men.
He told The Argus: “They didn’t surprise us at all. We knew they were going to play.
“We analysed them well, we had meetings and we knew they played.
“They play a certain way, keep the ball, play on our pressure and there is not a lot of teams that do that and work out so well.
“Especially at Anfield, I think it is always difficult for teams to play out under pressure but they did it well.
“We give them credit. We knew we could expect this.
“We could have done better but we don’t need to discredit them.”
Van Dijk praised fellow countryman Davy Propper for his part in the Albion display.
He said: “Davy is a fantastic player.
“He is very important for our country and a great guy.”
