Did Leandro Trossard state his case to start at the Emirates with his efforts as substitute at Anfield?
Or did he actually state the case for keeping him on the bench as an impact sub?
The Argus put that question to Graham Potter after the Belgian forced Alisson into his rash sortie resulting in a red card.
The sub’s role has suited Trossard in recent weeks.
Potter said: “He can do both, it’s just the right time, the right game.
“He is coming back from injury and he is adapting to the league, same as Neal (Maupay). They are not machines.
“They are adapting to the Premier League and its demands.
“We are coming to a period where we need to use everybody.
“Everyone needs to be ready.”
