Adam Webster is one goal away from equalling his best ever tally.

But a clean sheet and win will be his priorities as Albion look to beat high-flying Wolves today.

The former Bristol City defender says he feels at home in the Premier League after his summer switch.

And goals at Aston Villa and Arsenal have been moments to cherish.

He said: “Last year I got three and that was my best ever and I’ve got two already – so I’m getting better!

“It is something we work on weekly and it is something I want to add to my game.

“I’m the smallest one at the back and that might work to my advantage. Hopefully I get a few more!”

With Lewis Dunk and Shane Duffy also on target, four of Albion’s last five goals have come from defenders.

Webster grew up watching Portsmouth as a Chichester boy coming through the junior Fratton Park ranks, opening his eyes to Premier League football.

But John Terry is the closest he has to a defensive model to follow.

He said: “I used to like watching John Terry because he used both feet which is something I did when I was younger, so him to an extent.

“But I never really modelled myself on anyone.

“I’m still learning and every game provides different challenges.

“It’s about picking up different things and taking them into my game going forward.

“This was the next step for me. I had a good year last year and I was hoping I would find myself in the Premier League this year.

“I had that belief. Over the last couple of years I have proven in the Championship I can handle it.

“It was the next step for me to come here but I’ve backed my ability and I’m thankful for the opportunity.”

Albion return home after impressive displays at Liverpool and Arsenal.

Webster said: “We were really disappointed not to get anything at Anfield.

“A lot of times this season the performance has been good and the result not what we wanted.

“It would be easy to get knocked back by that and change things but we stuck to our guns and persisted in how we want to play. We reaped our regards.”
