Graham Potter has praised “fantastic” Neal Maupay after Albion took a hard-earned point.
The French striker produced a bolt from the blue with his left-foot finish to spark a comeback in the 2-2 draw at home to Wolves.
Davy Propper then headed the Seagulls in front after they had trailed and looked second best.
But Diogo Jota’s second goal of the first half gave Wolves a point.
Head coach Potter said: “You have to find a way sometimes in football.
“I didn’t think that way would be Neal Maupay banging in a goal like that on his left foot.
“But it changes the complexion a little bit and then the second goal quickly after changes it around, “We are disappointed with the equaliser but I think it would be unfair of me to say we deserved to go in at half-time ahead.
“We pushed and pushed in the second half, couldn’t find the answer but it’s a fairish result.”
Potter added: “Neal thinks he has struggled. I just think he has worked really hard for the team.
“He has sacrificed himself at times and it is nice when you are a forward and you do that and you get your rewards.
“He got the winner on Thursday night (at Arsenal) and again he has contributed to a point.
“I thought he was as good as anybody with his link-up play and how he affected the game.
“That’s six goals now in a team that is going through a transition. He has been fantastic.”
Maupay’s strike partner Aaron Connolly missed the game with a dead leg.
Potter handed Alireza Jahambakhsh his first minutes of the Prem season as part of a double switch in the second half which also saw Glenn Murray go in.
The Seagulls boss said: “I wanted a bit of legs with Ali on the right-hand side and, with Glenn, a bit of goal threat.
“At times we had to go a little bit back to front so he helps with that.
“We made two like-for-like attacking subs and tried to win the game.”
