GRAHAM POTTER has refused to put a time frame on the return of winger Jose Izquierdo despite positive reports on his recovery.
Izquierdo’s agent has expressed hopes the winger will be back playing in January or February. The wideman has been continuing his recovery from a knee injury in Colombia. His representative Norman Capuozzo has been with him.
Capuozzo told Gol Caracol TV: “It’s good to give Jose a lot of support and that is what we are doing.
“He is in a recovery phase. We hope he can return to competition in January or February. The expectation is that he will now start to make significant improvement.”
But Seagulls head coach Potter is not raising expectations.
He said: “With the nature of his injury, I would not want to speculate on a timeframe so there is nothing more to report on that.”
Meanwhile, striker Aaron Connolly will be given as long as possible to prove his fitness for Monday night’s game at Crystal Palace as he recovers from a dead leg which ruled him out of last Sunday’s draw with Wolves.
Potter said: “We’re waiting on Aaron so we shall give him as much time as we can. I would say he is looking doubtful but we shall give him up to the game to see where he is at.”
