MATY RYAN 7
Very comfortable with the ball as Albion built from his penalty area. Almost beaten by a fluke and had no chance with Zaha goal.
MARTIN MONTOYA 7
Recalled at the expense of Alzate to take right-back slot. Got forward on the overlap time and again as an outlet as he pushed Albion forward. But Zaha got better of him for goal.
ADAM WEBSTER 7
Defensively sound alongside Dunk and then joined by Duffy late on for a back three. Composed as he helped deal with the big Benteke.
LEWIS DUNK 7
Took an arm in the face from Benteke in first half as he tussled with the big striker. Had a couple of chances from set-pieces he might have done better with.
DAN BURN 7
Composed again at the back in a four and able to stride forward. Strong in the challenge, notably when breaking up a couple of quick counter attacks.
YVES BISSOUMA 7
Came in as Potter tried to strike the balance left by Stephens’ ban. Grew in confidence and did well for a start in such a high pressure environment. Let Zaha know he was there but tired late on.
DAVY PROPPER 8
Industrious in the centre of midfield. Looked to cash in on Montoya’s willingness to burst forward. Took a booking for the team and showed a lovely range of passing.
PASCAL GROSS 7
Saw plenty of the ball in first half. Delivered some quality crosses but nobody could convert an assist he probable deserved.
AARON MOOY 8
Picks out pockets of space for Albion and just keeps working. Again produced some good link play and also went close with a decent first-half effort.
LEANDRO TROSSARD 7
Found plenty of space out on left touchline. Riedewald was taken off at half-time after failing to cope with him and supplied the cross for Maupay goal.
NEAL MAUPAY 8
Could have gone down under challenge from Tomkins when played in on goal in first half. Took his chance so well and is a player in form.
SUBS
Steven Alzate: Late introduction for Trossard as Albion tried to gain control of the game again.
Shane Duffy: Came on as Albion reshuffled in the latter stages.
Bernardo: Came on in stoppage time for Gross.
