Albion have made seven changes in the FA Cup - but Glenn Murray is not involved.
The striker is said to have a knock and misses the third-round tie at home to Sheffield Wednesday.
Murray has been speculatively linked with a move away from the Seagulls this month.
Leon Balogun and Gaetan Bong are among the players who get a rare chance to impress.
Balogun, part of a back three, has not featured in the Premier League this season while Bong last played as sub in the win over Spurs on October 5.
