Shane Duffy says Albion were sloppy after their 1-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup.

Albion struggled to create chances and were made to pay for losing the ball on a number of occasions in the middle of the park and near their own 18-yard box.

The decisive goal came in the 65th minute after Steven Alzate fouled Massimo Lunogo on the edge of the box.

From the free kick Adam Reach stepped up and his effort hit Duffy and flew past David Button, who had dived the opposite way and Duffy says Albion were made to pay for being sloppy in possesion.

He said: “It was difficult from the start really, we didn’t get going and the way they set up was to frustrate us.

“I thought we were quite sloppy at times, trying to walk the ball into the net.

“On the day I don’t think we were good enough to win the game, so it was a frustrating day a lot of people came to support us and it was a chance to impress the manager, so it was really disappointing.”
