Albion expect to see Lewis Dunk back at full power at Goodison Park.

The skipper missed the Sheffield Wednesday cup tie, although he was at the Amex.

He was one of several senior players rested.

Head coach Graham Potter said: “Lewis had a feeling in his calf that wasn’t 100%.

“He had an illness over Christmas and he played two matches in a week so the third one was just too much of a risk.

“Aaron Mooy has just played a lot as well, Leo (Trossard) was precautionary. I would say even Ali (Jahanbakhsh), the reason why he didn’t start was just from the pure load.

“He had a sensation in his hamstring (on Friday).

“There are a lot of guys just carrying the intensity of the period.

“We would like to be bit more dynamic, a bit more intense, a bit fresher but we weren’t able to be.”

Solly March’s return from a groin injury remained on hold after he felt he was not quite ready.

But Potter said he is “hours/days away” from availability.
