Albion are on guard for an Everton backlash.

The Seagulls expect home fans to be right behind their side at Goodison Park tomorrow.

Defeat to a young Liverpool side in the FA Cup has led to a furious reaction among the blue half of Merseyside.

But Albion boss Graham Potter expects a reaction from Carlo Ancelotti’s men.

He is also aware the Toffees recorded three wins, three draws and a narrow defeat at Manchester City in the seven fixtures leading up to the derby at Anfield.

Potter said: “You lose to your local rivals and it is an emotional time. There is a lot of pride and feeling at Everton.

“With a bit more luck they could have been one or two goals up at half-time but it wasn’t to be.

“In the end they lose to Liverpool, which is painful for the supporters.

“But I am pretty sure that, come game time, they will be behind the team and wanting to support the team.

“We can’t control that. We just have to play well.

“If you can take the lead or you are doing well in the game, then of course that can affect the environment.

“That is what we have to focus on, not what the Everton fans are thinking.

“They are all good players. Everton have invested a lot of money over a number of transfer windows and have a lot of good players.

“With that in mind I would imagine they will respond.

“They will want to get back to winning ways.

“They will look to bounce back and we need to be wary of that.”

Glenn Murray and Solly March are both fit and available for Albion after injury.
