Graham Potter says he has no concerns about Albion biding their time over Aaron Mooy.

The midfielder is on loan from Huddersfield Town until the end of the season at which point he is likely to move on.

Albion cannot lose his loan services this month and are believed to be relaxed about the situation.

Mooy has impressed Albion on the pitch and fits their profile as a hard-working professional.

Fans would love to see him secured on a permanent deal.

He is rated less than 50-50 to play at Everton tomorrow after suffering a knee injury in training.

Looking longer term, Potter says there is no need to tie up a permanent deal with the Terriers before January 31.

Sources close to both clubs are tight-lipped as to any arrangement they might have in place for the end of Mooy’s loan.

But, asked whether there was a worry the player’s price might rise as he impresses in the Premier League, Potter said: “It’s no concern. For me personally it’s not.

“I just look at the player, trying to help him play football to the best that he can.

“At the start of the season, he was playing in the Championship.

“There weren’t too many people wanting to take him at the start of the season.

“Now he has played with us and I think recently he has done very well.”

Potter is keen for Mooy to maintain the form that has, according to a Huddersfield source, had other clubs forming a queue to sign him.

He added: “In football, things can change quite quickly.

“He has to focus on that, focus on carrying on playing football and I have to carry on helping him. Whatever happens in May, happens.

“I’ll not have the sole decision because I wouldn’t like it that way.

“But, certainly as a coach, you say, ‘This player has done well’ or ‘That player has not’.

“In consultation with everybody else I will have an opinion at the end of the season.”

Mooy was rested for the FA Cup defeat by Sheffield Wednesday and could be absent again at Goodison.

Potter told The Argus: “It was a just a knock on his knee. He trained on Tuesday but felt it after that so hasn’t trained on Wednesday or Thursday.

“We will see how he goes but at the moment, I wouldn’t say 50-50, probably a bit less.”
