Graham Potter says he has no need to remind his players of their cruel defeat by Aston Villa.

But he would love to see them turn the tide at the Amex today – with the help of a noisy home support.

Albion lost 2-1 at Villa, conceding in the final seconds having led and controlled the contest until Aaron Mooy was sent off.

Asked whether that match had figured in team discussions this week, head coach Potter told The Argus: “I think it was that painful that the lads have got it in their heads and they don’t need me to remind them of that.

“At Villa Park is different. This is a different game.

“When we look back at the season, that was one of the lowlights but actually I was really proud of the team on that day.

“I actually thought we played well. When we were 11 men we played really well and, even when we had ten, we had some chances.

“They, of course, did as well because you would expect that.

“I thought the crowd at Villa Park really helped them.

“It was hard to stop the tide, if you like.”

Asked whether Albion fans can play a big role today, Potter said: “I hope so. It would be great if they could.

“As I always say, we have to help the Amex as well with our performances and we have to attack and we have to be positive and we have to try.

“They have to see that behaviour and then I am sure they will get behind us and help us.”

Albion under-23s’ Romanian international midfielder Tudor Baluta has joined Alan Pardew’s Den Haag on loan for the rest of the season.
