Graham Potter admitted his team lost their way at home to Aston Villa.

The Albion head coach was disappointed with a 1-1 draw after deservedly leading at the break through Leandro Trossard.

Jack Grealish saved a point for Villa after Aaron Mooy lost possession around halfway.

Potter said: “We wanted to win and when you are 1-0 up you hope you can hold on and maybe get the second.

“I thought we played really well in the first half.

“We get the goal and had some more opportunities in their box.

“But, in the second half, I think they responded, which you expect in a game like this, with the importance of it, without having loads of chances.

“But once we had the ball and make a positional error and then Jack Grealish’s strike, you are punished for not too much.

“It is disappointing from us we couldn’t really carry on with what we did in the first half in the second half but I think Aston Villa stepped up as well.

“In the end, we are disappointed with not winning but it is another point for us and we move on to Tuesday.”
