Albion are set for talks with Boca Juniors over their plans for Alexis Mac Allister.
But that does NOT necessarily mean the young Argentina international will come to England this winter.
The personal visit by a club representative is a routine part of Mac Allister’s loan deal.
It has been given new context by the fact the player has secured a work permit to come to the United Kingdom.
Albion had not planned to have Mac Allister available for the rest of the season.
Indications last night were that they may well opt to stick to the original plan and leave Mac Allister in Buenos Aires for now.
That could change after discussions this weekend.
Albion have a good relationship with their counterparts at the Bombonera.
Boca have undergone major changes off the pitch and have a new head coach in Miguel Angel Russo.
Albion will be keen to hear what part Russo sees Mac Allister playing in the coming months.
Mac Allister will be playing catch-up with his club due to his involvement with Argentina under-23s in the Olympic qualifiers.
Boca resume their league campaign on Sunday at home to Independiente.
