The future of Alexis Mac Allister remained unclear tonight, despite suggestions Albion have made their move.
The Seagulls are reported in Argentina to have offered €500,000 (£422,000) to secure the early release of the attacking midfielder from his loan deal at Boca Juniors.
There has been no update from sources closer to Albion.
Boca are keen to make it known they are trying hard to keep a player who is popular with their highly demanding fanbase.
They were lacking in attack as they drew 0-0 at home to Independiente in the early hours of Monday morning, our time.
Forward Mauro Zarate limped out of the action with a muscular injury.
Boca are under pressure from fans to add to their squad rather than lose players.
Mac Allister is due to feature for Argentina under-23s in the Olympic qualifying tournament tonight.
