Ben White is set for a new role with Leeds tonight when they face Millwall.
The Albion loanee who has earned rave reviews for his performances at the back will be used as a defensive midfielder.
The centre-half is being pushed forward by Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa to cover for the suspended Kalvin Phillips.
Bielsa said a ten-day break has allowed him to work on the set-up with White, who is likely to face fellow Albion prospect Jayson Molumby at Elland Road.
The Irishman is on loan at the Lions.
Leeds, whose big advantage in the race for automatic promotion has been cut to three points after just one win in seven league matches, yesterday signed France Under-21s striker Jean-Kevin Augustin from RB Leipzig but he is unlikely to figure.
