Alexis Mac Allister is ready to handle the expectation of excited Albion fans.

The Argentina international is training with his new club-mates after his loan stint at Boca Juniors was cut short.

Concerned Seagulls supporters will be hoping Mac Allister can help kick-start their season after a winless run of six games.

Mac Allister says he is used to pressure after increasingly bearing the hopes and expectations of demanding Boca fans at La Bombonera.

He told the Argus: “I try not to think much about it.

“I was conscious of what is at stake when you play for Boca.

“But I tried not to pressure myself and to just enjoy playing football.

“I think when you enjoy your football you do better.

“I don’t know if there is a lot of expectation here but, if there is, I am happy about it.

“I’m happy people expect a lot of me.

“I have a lot of expectation of the team and of doing well myself.

“Let’s hope that is the case, for the good of Brighton.”

Mac Allister is back at the club 13 months after initially signing from Argentinos Juniors, who he then rejoined on loan.

He said: “I thank the people at Brighton for trusting in me a long time ago and now they are doing it again.

“I’m full of excitement to get going.”
