Graham Potter kept Alexis Mac Allister’s debut on hold at Bramall Lane.
But the recent arrival from Argentina soaked up the ambiance of a Premier League matchday.
Potter felt a battle against Sheffield United was not the time to throw him in.
Even for 20 minutes or so off the bench.
Potter said: “We have to find the right time for him.”
He could now be poised for a debut in what his compatriot Leo Ulloa once famously described as the “Clasico” against Crystal Palace.
Mac Allister was with the squad at Bramall Lane as he settled into life as part of the Albion squad.
Photographer Richard Parkes spotted him taking in the surroundings, snapping a picture on his phone and in the company of fellow Spanish speaker Steven Alzate on his first Prem awayday.
