GEORGE MILLS stormed to his first senior title as he grabbed 1500m gold at the British Indoor Championships.
The Brighton Phoenix AC runner led home a tactical race in 3:50.69 from Tom Keen (3:52.40) and Jonothan Kay (3:52.55).
Mills said: “I have had this event in my indoor calendar for the whole season and it was all about tailoring it to come here and have a good experience.
“The title means a massive amount to me.
“It is the first time racing this year that I have felt how I want to feel.
“To win my first senior title is amazing. I am over the moon.”
Mills secured a personal best the previous weekend in Glasgow so admitted he had felt confident going into the race.
He added: “With the PB I knew I could come here and give it my best shot whoever was in the race.”
Crawley Athletic Club’s Holly Turner took silver in the 400m.
The red-hot Jessie Knight won in 52.76secs at the Emirates Arena.
