A SUSSEX rugby player has been blasted after he was caught on camera grabbing another player's genitals.

Wales captain Alun Wyn Jones was left incredulous when former Sussex schoolboy Joe Marler made the move as he tried to separate players following a scuffle in their Six Nations clash today.

Just after the 10-minute mark, Wales rattled over in a bid to open their account but no try was the ruling as George North knocked on.

It prompted a prolonged melee at the whitewash when England captain Owen Farrell shoved North in the chest.

Almost every player on the pitch then became involved, with scrum-half Tomos Williams in the thick of it and Maro Itoje restraining Ross Moriarty as he fronted up to the opposition.

And, as Jones tried to separate players, he was left stunned by smirking Marler's actions, looking to the officials in bewilderment.

And the move did not go down well.

"Disgusting", one viewer wrote on Twitter.

Another added: "How is that allowed?"

This isn’t the first time Marler has courted controversy.

Back in 2016, he was banned for two games and fined £20,000 after he called Welsh prop Samson Lee ‘Gypsy boy’ in the Six Nations at Twickenham.

In a previous interview with the Daily Telegraph, the prop said: “I’m not the easiest of blokes at times. I know that.

“Down the years I have been a prat at times – those (Mohican) haircuts, gobbing off, red cards – yeah, guilty.

“It was when, Olly Kohn, who was known as Fisherman’s Friend as he was nice to everyone, told me that I was being a bit of a d--- that the penny finally dropped. Olly broke down that barrier.

“I like to think I’ve developed a bit of self-awareness since then. It was cathartic. That’s a big word for me. But it’s the right one. ”
