JUDE MACDONALD says that Ahmed Abdulla may be the goal-scoring midfielder that Whitehawk have been missing all season.

Abdulla scored a hat trick in 30 minutes in the Hawks 8-1 victory at home over Three Bridges last weekend and Macdonald admitted that this may be due to a change of style from his side.

He said: “We have lacked a goalscoring midfielder so far this season.

“Our style really was about our front three scoring goals and from set pieces pre-christmas with Kasper Lopata scoring from corners.

“However, with goals drying up from set pieces we had to adapt our style of play so in that sense it has been good that people like Ahmed have chipped in.”

Whitehawk now travel to Whitstable tomorrow and Macdonald knows how much of a fortress it is.

He said: “They are about middle of the road in the form table and nearly managed a win against Hastings at the weekend, so they will take plenty of confidence from that.

“They have only lost about three games at home all season, with their pitch teams have found it difficult.

“We will need to be on top of our game if we want to make it four defeats.”

Macdonald confirmed Connor Tighe is the only absentee for the Hawks as he is still struggling with an injury to his hip area.
