Albion directors are discussing the Premier League decision to keep action on hold.

The final league and cup fixtures of the 2019-20 season have been pushed back "until safe and appropriate to do so" due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Albion had, in theory at least, been due to return to action at the end of this month.

The extended delay could now give clubs the chance to put new plans in place on and off the pitch having been on something of a holding pattern in the past fortnight.

Players have been training at home, including group workouts conducted via video link four days a week. Their workloads could now be adapted.

The continuing hold-up may also offer the club a chance to extend the help they are already giving the community.

Albion’s board went straight into a meeting when the Premier League conference concluded.

The club have earned widespread praise for the high levels of communication and community support they have provided during the current crisis.
