Jose Izquierdo is recovering in Colombia after minor knee surgery as he continues his quest for full fitness.

The Colombia winger has had a “clean-up” of his right knee.

He has not played for almost a year due to ongoing problems in his left knee.

Izquierdo was the first player who has been allowed home during the current halt in fixtures.

Head coach Graham Potter said: “He has been away because he had some surgery and he was rehabilitating back there.

“I think he is okay. The medical department and sports science have been keeping in touch with him.

“No problems reported, no symptoms or anything like that and his family are all okay.

“It was a clean-up on his other knee. It’s only minor but we took the opportunity to do it when we could, based on expectations as to when he would be back to full fitness.”
