Eastbourne Borough have furloughed staff, including their full playing squad.
Borough’s National League season is on hold indefinitely due to coronavirus.
Self-employed staff who work for the club, including coach Scott Chalmers-Stevens, have been laid off.
It is believed three off-field employees and 17 players have been furloughed.
They will receive 80% of their salary, paid by the government, but that will be topped up by the club in the first month.
Borough have funds available thanks to the well-attended home game they staged against Maidstone immediately before the season was halted.
