Albion will have eyes on the Bundesliga as action returns this weekend.

But Paul Barber believes events in Germany will not affect hopes of playing home and away in the Premier League.

German clubs are being allowed to play at their own stadia, albeit behind closed doors.

Albion and other Prem teams are still hoping to avoid completing their own campaign on neutral territory.

Barber led opposition which forced a rethink by Government and police in this country to insistsing on neutral venues and he does not believe any problems in Germany would affect that.

Albion’s deputy chairman said: “One thing (last) Monday’s meeting proved was that it is not just my argument.

“It is the unknown again. There is so much about this situation that we are trying to navigate through without a script.

“Each piece of the jigsaw that gets put in place gives us a clearer picture of what we might have to face ourselves.

“The Bundesliga going ahead this weekend is a really big part of that jigsaw because it will provide us with several pieces from an operational point of view and a football point of view and a health and safety point of view that will help and inform us as we move forward.

“Of course, we will be watching it with different eyes. What has happened to Germany is useful as a guide.

“But the circumstances in this country will always be unique to us.

“We have to look at our own circumstances. Of course, looking to what is happening in Germany will help us and inform us.”
