Two bright Albion prospects are back in action after the Covid-19 shutdown.
On-loan duo Viktor Gyokeres and Leo Ostigard helped St Pauli win 1-0 at home to Nuremburg in the second tier of the German Bundesliga.
Gyokeres, pictured above, was the second of five substitutes used by St Pauli under new regulations and scored the winning goal on 84 minutes. It was his seventh goal of the league campaign.
Ostigard played the full 90 minutes in defence.
Former Albion duo Markus Suttner (Dusseldorf) and Uwe Huenemeier (Paderborn) were in opposition in the top flight yesterday as their sides shared a 0-0 draw.
Despite suggestions Paderborn needed persuading to play, Huenemeier said: “We feel really comfortable with all the restrictions and really comfortable with the German league’s plan.
“We felt quite happy to play and we had waited a long time for that."
