Worthing have put a goalkeeper top of their wanted list for next season.

Boss Adam Hinshelwood is keeping in close contact with the squad who were seven points clear at the top of the Isthmian League when the season was halted.

Goalkeeper Carl Rushworth, who was a massive hit on loan, has returned to his parent club Albion.

Hinshelwood said: “I am pretty sure Brighton are going to want to keep Carl and keep a close watch on him for the early part of the season.

“A goalkeeper will be the main priority for us at the moment.”

Hinshelwood is hopeful of keeping his squad intact over the summer.

He said: “All I have asked for is they tell me if they are looking to go elsewhere or play higher or stay with us.

“A lot of them have come back to me and been positive.

“All I ask is that they be honest. If a club comes in for them, let us know.

“I will plan to have them next year unless I hear anything different.”

Hinshelwood will run and walk the 27 miles from his Selsey home to the Bibby Financial Services Stadium on Saturday in full Worthing kit, along with coach Cameron Morrison and kitman Stuart Evans. They are helping raise funds for stadium improvements.

Hinshelwood said: “I’ve done a reccy for the first little bit on the way over to Pagham. I think Cam and Stu will wonder where the hell I am taking them!”
