The Premier League looks set to resume on Wednesday, June 17.

And Albion could be back in action two nights later.

Aston Villa will host Sheffield United and Manchester City play at home to Arsenal in the first matches.

Those are games in hand the four teams have over their rivals. The matches were postponed due to the Carabao Cup final.

Their successful completion would leave all 20 clubs on 29 matches.

That would appear to set the scene for Albion and others to return to action on the weekend of June 19-22.

Premier League chief executive Richard Masters said: "Today we have provisionally agreed to resume the Premier League on Wednesday 17 June.

"But this date cannot be confirmed until we have met all the safety requirements needed, as the health and welfare of all participants and supporters is our priority."

A win for Villa over the Blades would see them move to within a point of Albion.
