Albion can warm up for their Premier League return with the help of at least one friendly match.

The Premier League has given the green light for non-competitive games ahead of the restart, according to reports.

They will help players ease back to match fitness as they near the end of a 15-week break between fixtures.

Coaching staff will referee the fixtures, given that match officials have not yet been tested for Covid-19.

Players will travel in their own cars, wearing the kit in which they play.

Venues must be no more than 90 minutes away although exceptions could be made in the case of, for example, Newcastle.

The news is likely to be welcomed by Albion staff, who had been putting into place plans for in-house practice matches similar to that played by Liverpool at Anfield this week.
