Florin Andone says injuries prevented him showing fans in Turkey what he can do.
The Albion striker’s season on loan at Galatasaray has been ended by a second knee injury in seven months.
In a message posted on social media, he wrote: “I don’t know how or where to start but I want to share what I am feeling with all of you.
“All those many people who have been worried about me and have sent me messages of support and encouragement, I want to thank you from my heart.
“The season has ended for me. A very difficult one due to the two injuries I have suffered.
“I feel frustrated at not reaching the targets I had in mind when I came to this great club.
“I feel that I have let down a lot of people and the injuries have not allowed me to show all I can do.
“I am sorry for how it all went and, although my time at Galatasaray has not brought many positive things, I have felt privileged to have worn this great shirt and represented this great club.
“Thank you again for your countless shows of affection, especially the Galatasaray fans who have shown again they are without doubt among the best in the world.”
Andone is under contract with Albion until 2023.
