Aston Villa remain six points behind Albion after another setback today.
They went down 1-0 at home to Wolves to remain 19th in the Premier League.
It was the latest failure by a team in the bottom five to launch a potential push for safety.
Villa have now played four times since the resumption of action, three of them at home.
But they have managed just two points.
Leander Dendoncker replaced Adama Traore in Wolves' only change today and scored the winner in the 62nd minute by drilling in from the edge of the box.
Round 32 of fixtures continues tomorrow as Watford host Southampton (4.30pm).
Albion host Manchester United on Tuesday (8.15pm).
Wednesday brings the remaining three members of the bottom six into play. Norwich are at Arsenal and Bournemouth host Newcastle, both at 6pm. Then West Ham are at home to Chelsea (8.15pm).
