Albion could be officially safe tonight – or their relegation nerves could be setting in.

A wide range of outcomes, scenarios and emotions are possible from today's two key fixtures.

The Seagulls are at Southampton (8.15pm), soon after Aston Villa have completed their fixture at Everton.

Albion currently have 36 points with both Watford and West Ham on 34, Bournemouth on 31 and Villa on 30.

If Villa drop points and Albion then win, Graham Potter’s men will be eight points clear of 18th place and definitely safe with two games to go.

If Albion draw and Villa fail to win, it will be very unlikely that either Bournemouth or Villa can overhaul the Seagulls.

But a win for Villa and defeat or even a draw for Albion would leave Potter’s team vulnerable, knowing that at least one of West Ham and Watford will add to their points tally when they meet tomorrow.

The situation could be further complicated by the fact West Ham face Villa on the final day.
