Maty Ryan 6

Not a lot of saves to make but hand and footwork were good. He is not a keeper to come charging out catching cross after cross.

Tariq Lamptey 8

A real threat in the first hour and his delivery from out wide was better than in previous matches. Got in a crucial tackle in Vydra late in.

Adam Webster 7

Good defending in a stern test and confident as ever on the ball. Dived to head away a Brady shot as the hosts pressed.

Lewis Dunk 7

His block from Long at point blank range topped off a strong defensive effort and his willingness to take the ball down and use it when he had time rather than clear immediately also impressed. Was outmanoeuvred by Wood for the Burnley goal.

Dan Burn 7

Lots of good defensive work and roamed forward to force the corner for the first goal. Should he have offered more cover when Wood scored?

Solly March 6

Brought back in the left wing-back role and offered a useful outlet while keeping an eye on Gudmundsson going the other way.

Dale Stephens 7

Given a midfield role ahead of the back three and, once a penalty scare had passed after his own lapse, did a good job. Superb effort to keep out a Rodriguez header at point-blank range.

Yves Bissouma 8

Worth the wait? His overdue first Premier goal was an absolute beauty, ironically resulting in part from one of his worst touches of the game. Good on the ball and forceful going forward. He has had a good finish to the campaign with more to come.

Alexis Mac Allister 6

Showed touches of quality on the ball operating behind the front two and got into a great position at the end of a flowing move, although he should arguably have finished with more composure from there. For whatever reason, most corners were catching practice for Pope.

Neal Maupay 7

Unlucky with a header against the bar as he rose among the Burnley giants. Buzzed about and played a big part in the winning goal.

Aaron Connolly 8

It had been coming. When it arrived, that first goal since October combined a fiery competitive edge followed by a quick flick of the switch into ice-cool finisher mode.

SUBS

Aaron Mooy

Good work to see it through bar one bad clearance which was not punished.

Davy Pröpper

Sound in midfield as Albion avoided serious storms late on.

Bernardo

Finished the job down the left.

Glenn Murray and Alireza Jahanbakhsh

Very brief contributions.
