Alex Revell could be in contention for an FA Cup place after making a rapid recovery from hernia surgery.

The Albion striker plays for the reserves at Millwall tomorrow and has not been ruled out of the running for a spot in the squad which goes to Torquay United in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Revell has been missing since limping out of the 2-1 win at Hartlepool on October 27.

Dean Wilkins believes the decision to get him straight in for his second hernia operation this year has paid off.

The Albion boss said: "Alex did not lose too much fitness like he did last time.

"He had it done while he was still fully fit and that has made a difference.

"These days with a hernia you come out of hospital and within days you are doing some form of exercise.

"It won't take him too long. He has been doing quite a bit of work and rehabilitation for a while.

"He has looked fit in the sessions we have had and he's going to get a game under his belt."

Asked if Revell might be available for the trip to Plainmoor, Wilkins said: "He could be, depending how he gets through this game."

Albion's first-teamers were given an extra day off after a sequence which has seen them play seven matches in November, using 16 different players in their starting line-up.

Wilkins said: "It has been busy. We felt they needed two days to recover."

If he is fit, should Alex Revell play a part on Saturday?
