Albion duo Steven Alzate and Aaron Connolly have agreed new deals.

Both had breakthrough Premier League seasons in 2019-20.

They have now agreed contracts until June 2024.

Technical director Dan Ashworth said: “It’s been a breakthrough season for Aaron but he is always looking to improve every aspect of his game.

"His new contract will give him stability and the opportunity to really develop with us.

"We’re looking forward to working with him and helping to make him an even better player.”

Alzate has had minor surgery on a groin issue which hindered him from the turn of the year.

But he made an impressive introduction to Prem life - and international football with Colombia - after a loan stint at Swindon Town.

His versatility and sure touch on the ball made him a perfect fit for Graham Potter's playing style.

Ashworth said: “Steven made great strides this season until his injury and his attitude and commitment are a great example to the younger players at the club.

"We’re looking forward to seeing how much he progresses over the next few seasons and to working with him.”
