Crawley have snapped up one of the youngsters let go by Albion this summer.

Full-back Archie Davies has signed a two-year deal with the League Two outfit.

Davies was a regular in the Seagulls’ under-23s side and played for the seniors against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup.

The 21-year-old comes from St Leonards but spent part of his childhood in Lanzarote, where he started playing football.

He joined the Albion academy when he was 15 after a brief period with Crystal Palace.

Albion sent him on loan to Whitehawk at one stage, Crawley boss John Yems said: “I saw Archie last year, he could be a top player for us.”
