Tommy Fraser today admitted Albion face a tough FA Cup test at Torquay United.

The 19-year-old midfielder is widely expected to start Saturday's second-round tie at Plainmoor in place of the suspended George O'Callaghan.

If he gets the nod, Fraser will know exactly what to expect, thanks to a Sunday afternoon spent in front of the television.

Fraser stayed in to watch the Gulls' impressive 4-1 demolition of League One side Yeovil in the first round because he wanted to see what sort of side one of his former Albion youth team colleagues had joined.

Then he heard the Seagulls would be going to Plainmoor in the second round if they won their replay with Cheltenham.

He revealed: "I only watched the Torquay game because Paul Hinshelwood, who is one of my best friends in football, went down there to play for them.

"He was left out of the squad that day but I still thought I'd watch it because he is involved down there.

"It's going to be a difficult game for us.

"They were a good strong unit, well organised with big, strong players.

"It's not an easy place to go, especially for an FA Cup tie."

Fraser started the 1-1 first-round draw at Cheltenham when O'Callaghan was unwell and has generally looked at home in central midfield.

He said: "Obviously I'd like to play week in, week out but George is a fery good player and so is Dean Hammond.

"I've had my fair share of games, so have George and Dean. Now there's a good chance for me to play.

"I'm not saying I will or I should but if I do so, I will do it to the best of my ability.

"Me and George are both central midfielders, both ball players. He's older than me and more experienced but you can learn a lot from him."

Should Tommy Fraser replace George O'Callagham on Saturday?
