Dean Wilkins has revealed the training ground attention to detail which can help Albion tighten up at the back.

The Seagulls have gone nine games without a cleansheet going into Saturday's FA Cup tie at free-scoring Conference side Torquay United.

Albion went unbeaten through their recent run of two games per week, winning four and drawing four.

But they have leaked four goals in their last two league games.

With no midweek fixture to worry about, Wilkins has been reminding his men of a few basic disciplines at their base in Falmer this week.

He wants his side to be a more compact unit when they do not have the ball.

The coaching staff have also been working with keeper Michel Kuipers on how he can tidy up anything loose behind his back four.

Wilkins said: "

"We are just trying to get the balance right between when we've got the ball and when we haven't "We did an 11 v 11 on Tuesday, with the youth team as well, and have been trying to get the discipline back which brought us lots of cleansheets earlier in the season.

"It's continual reminder sessions throughout the season.

"We've not had many opportunities to work the players really intensively on the training ground because of the number of games.

"We've been doing some work with just a back four and a goalkeeper, then continued that with the whole 11.

"We had become a little bit loose.

"The distances between each unit of the side, in terms of the width we are are defending with, are too big.

"Also where Michel (Kuipers) did so well earlier in the season sweeping up in and around the corners of the penalty box and his position on crosses coming into the box.

"We've just been doing reminder sessions on that.

"If we can pull all those things back together again and get that little of detail spot on, we will then get back on the trail of cleansheets."

Albion have confirmed their Johnstone's Paint Trophy area semi-final at Swansea City will take place on Tuesday, January 8 with a 7pm kick-off.
