Graham Potter says a back three is an option for the new season.

And that looks set to include Ben White to the right of centre.

Albion fans present at the Amex rejoiced in the fact the much-coveted defender will be staying on board for the new season as the Seagulls drew 1-1 with Chelsea.

They chorused “No.3 Ben White” in response to Leeds’ fans’ recent #FreeBenWhite campaign as they hoped he would return to Elland Road.

Head coach Graham Potter said he had been impressed with how White has dealt with speculation over his future.

Asked about the back three, Potter said: “It’s an option for us. We did a bit last year as well.

“With Ben, with Lewis (Dunk), with Adam (Webster), with Dan (Burn), with Shane (Duffy).

“There’s possibilities there so it is something we can look at.”

Potter said of White: “He has got on with his work, he enjoys being with the players, he enjoys football.

“He just wants to get on and play football as well as he can.”

Jayson Molumby was one of three subs sent on at half-time and will hope to be the latest young talent to make great strides under Potter.

Potter made most of his planned changes around the hour mark but there were three special cases in the starting XI.

Adam Lallana did not play a great deal late last season, Joel Veltman’s campaign ended early in the Eredivisie and Steven Alzate has had groin surgery.

Those three left the action at half-time with Alexis Mac Allister, Tariq Lamptey and Molumby going on.

Max Sanders entered the fray after Dale Stephens suffered a blow to the head.

Potter said: “It was really good. They have impressed in pre-season.

“Jayson has had a loan in the Championship, Max in League One.

“They are two slightly different players but they have got some attributes which are interesting.

“We need to find the right pathway for them in terms of to continue to continue their career and progress.

“At the same time, it’s nice to have young players around.

“They can add a bit of energy, a bit of freshness and enthusiasm to the group.

“They have acquitted themselves really well.”
